Face Value

Capital 37.0.3 is a fix release. Presets, settings, sections and templates are unchanged from 37.0.2.

Fixed

• Collection and search filters and sorting now work while you are editing your theme. In the theme editor, changing a filter or the sort order left the products exactly as they were, and the filter sprang back to its previous setting. Your live storefront was never affected by this.
• The footer brand column now gives its heading the room it needs, so a long brand name no longer breaks mid-word or leaves punctuation stranded on its own line.

Upgrading from 36

37 is a rebuild, not an update to 36. Settings, templates and section content do not carry over.

Do not use the Update button in your admin. It installs a copy with your settings only partly applied, and the result will not match your current store.

Install 37 fresh from the Theme Store instead, alongside your current theme. Set it up from a preset, then publish it when you are ready. Your current theme is not modified and stays published until you switch.

Capital 37.0.2 completes the 37 rebuild's preset roster. Nothing else changes: settings, sections and templates are exactly as they were in 37.0.0.

• Two presets: Capital and Nice Try. Each ships the composition, copy and palette of its demo store, so a fresh install lands on the page you saw in the Theme Store. Further presets arrive in the 37.0.x updates that follow.
• Native colour schemes, including a transparent scheme for text over media, two font pickers with a heading scale, and theme-level identity settings for the accent mark, corner radius and section rhythm.
• New sections with add-section presets: hero, statement, story, mosaic, marquee, before/after, shop the look, timeline, proof, FAQ, gallery, image divider and product showcase.
• Product page: app block support, Shop Pay Installments, product structured data, and a variant picker with colour swatches.
• Filtering and sorting on search results, a favicon setting, Open Graph and Twitter meta tags, and a QR code on gift cards.

Changed

• Settings are curated per section and reduced from around 1,600 to under 600, so each control is a design choice rather than a slider.
• The header, footer, cart drawer, search drawer, offers drawer and popup are section groups, edited in place.
• The header uses Shopify's account component; legacy customer accounts are no longer supported.

This release adds Shopify's account component to your storefront header, giving customers a streamlined sign-in and account experience on stores using new customer accounts.

Added

• Added Shopify's account component to the header. With new customer accounts, clicking the account icon opens an account dialog to sign in, view orders, and manage their profile, rather than redirecting to separate pages. Stores using legacy customer accounts are unaffected.
• Added a "Customer account menu" setting in Header settings to show a custom navigation menu inside the account dialog for signed-in customers.
