Habitat Shopify theme

This update adds five new sections (Revealed text, Media grid, Multiple media with text, Interviews and Timeline) and a mobile dock of shortcuts along the bottom of phone screens, groups sections into categories in the theme editor, makes cart quantity changes and removals reliable when apps add or remove cart items, and smooths out Load More product loading.

Added

• Important: Mobile dock — a new section in the theme editor's Overlay group that pins up to six shortcuts to the bottom of phone screens: Home, Menu, Search, Cart (with the item count), Account, and custom links. Menu, Search and Cart open the same menu, search and cart drawer as the header icons. Each item can have its own label and icon (or a custom SVG), the colors match the header unless you pick your own, and an optional setting keeps the dock hidden at the top of the page and slides it in as visitors scroll down. The sticky add-to-cart bar, the back-to-top button and the end of the page move up so the dock never covers them. Hidden on screens 768px and wider
• Revealed text section — One statement set large. With animations on, it holds in place for a screen of scrolling while its words light up one by one; with animations off it simply stands. Choose the size, heading or body font, alignment, width and colors (Storytelling)
• Media grid section — A grid of image, video and text tiles, four columns wide on desktop and two on mobile. Each tile sets how many columns and rows it spans, and can carry a heading, text, a button label and a link to make the whole tile clickable. Tiles without media show their text on a color of your choice, and the last row always closes at the edge of the grid. Videos play muted while on screen, with a play and pause button (Media)
• Multiple media with text section — Up to three images or videos framed together beside a subheading, heading, text and button. Add products to any image or video to show a Shop the look button that lists them in a side panel (Media)
• Interviews section — Questions and answers in a carousel beside an image, each with the name, role and portrait of the person answering, with arrows and dots to move between them (Storytelling)
• Timeline section — Dated entries with an optional image, heading, text and link. On desktop they stand in a row you can scroll or step through with arrows, under a row of dates that link to each entry and a bar that follows the reading; on mobile they run down a line that fills as visitors scroll (Storytelling)
• Sections in the theme editor's Add section menu are now grouped into categories (Collections, Products, Blog, Media, Storytelling, Reviews, Forms, Promotions, Information and Layout), so the section you need is quicker to find than in one long alphabetical list

Changed

• Load More and infinite scroll — Newly loaded products now cross-fade in on browsers that support view transitions, matching the filter animation

Other fixes and improvements

• Important: Cart quantity and remove — Changing a quantity or removing an item on the cart page or cart drawer now always affects that item, even after an app or discount automatically adds or removes a cart item (such as a free gift)
• Cart page — Fixed a JavaScript error that could occur when the cart refreshed after an external update
• Mobile menu — Pressing Escape to close the menu no longer leaves the page unable to scroll. The menu now closes the same way as tapping the menu icon, and keyboard focus returns to the menu button instead of being lost
• Mobile menu — Tapping the menu icon again while the menu is closing no longer leaves the page unable to scroll. The menu finishes closing, and the next tap opens it as usual
• Translations — Corrected mistranslated breadcrumb and header text in German, Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch, including the Home and Shop breadcrumb links, the search link, search field and search drawer labels, and the account and login links
• Header search — Fixed a JavaScript error when typing in the search panel while Predictive search is turned off in the header settings
• Sticky add-to-cart — The bar is no longer added to product pages twice when a block in the Product information section has Show below gallery turned on. The duplicate could keep the bar's price, image and selected options from following the variant picker
• Mobile menu — The menu now fades and slides in when it opens and fades out when it closes, instead of appearing at once and staying fully visible until it disappeared. The X icon also turns back into the menu icon as soon as the menu starts closing

This update fixes a JavaScript error on the All products collection page and modernizes the theme's animation library and build tooling.

Fixed

• Important: All products page — The auto-generated /collections/all page no longer breaks theme JavaScript (quick view, quick add, and cart actions were unresponsive on that page only)
• Split text animations — Headings with bold or linked words spanning a line break now animate line by line correctly

• GSAP upgraded to 3.15.0 — Includes the rewritten SplitText (smaller and more accurate) and drops the Club GreenSock licensing restriction
• Build tooling — SCSS now compiles with Dart Sass for Node 22 compatibility; compiled CSS is functionally unchanged

This update adds analytics standard events, accessibility improvements, and UI polish.

• Important: Shopify standard events — Publishes the shopify:* DOM events (page, product, collection and cart views, cart line/note/discount updates, variant select, collection and search updates) so analytics and pixel apps can track interactions without DOM scraping
• Facet crossfade — Filtering, sorting, and active-filter changes crossfade the grid in supported browsers via the View Transitions API

• Important: Accessibility — Keyboard focus is now trapped inside open drawers and side panels, and theme animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting
• Color swatches — Centralized color-option detection so custom (non-English) option names render swatches consistently across product pages, cards, and filters
• Price filter inputs — Disabled browser autofill on the min/max price fields

This update expands language support, adds new product and navigation customization options, and fixes variant image-set matching for non-ASCII characters.
