Expanse Shopify theme

Expanse 10.0.1 is a compatibility update for Shopify's CSS subsetting. Shopify now loads only the styles needed for the sections on each page. This release keeps Expanse styles available everywhere they are used, including Quick Shop, Quick Add, and the cart, so layouts do not lose styling after the platform change.

No theme editor settings have changed, and you do not need to reconfigure anything after updating.

Fixed

• Theme styles remain intact on pages that load extra content after the first paint, such as Quick Shop, Quick Add, cart recommendations, and complementary products.
• Prevents missing or broken styling that appear due to Shopify subsetting CSS.

Expanse 10.0.0 updates the variant picker and product cards with full support for high-variant products, eliminating the "Product: 250+ variants" template. This release also adds an option to show or hide the featured image on blog articles.

Added

• Size chart can now be attached directly to a variant picker option, regardless of block positioning.
• New "Show article image" setting on blog article pages.

Changed

• The product page variant picker has been rebuilt with improved performance, accessibility, and high-variant support.
• Products with very high variant counts (250+) are now handled by the standard product template — no separate template needed.
• High-variant products are now supported by Quick Shop and Quick Add.

Removed

• The "Product: 250+ variants" section and its high-variant product template have been removed. Any product assigned to that template falls back to your default product template, and the block layout you set up on the 250+ variants template will not carry over. The new variant picker handles high variant counts on the standard product template, so the layout can be rebuilt there. If you use this template, review your product pages after updating.
• The "Enable dynamic product options" variant picker setting has been removed. This behavior is now always on.

Fixed

• Color swatches no longer go missing on product cards when metaobjects are used for options without any swatch set. The theme uses the metaobject swatch when there is one, and otherwise falls back to a matching image in Shopify Files or the color named in the option value.
• Trust badges no longer overlap other product blocks or the sections below them.
• Buy buttons now show an "Unavailable" state when a selected combination has no matching variant.
• Local pickup availability updates correctly when switching variants, and no longer shows the previous variant's locations.
• The size chart opened from inside Quick Shop is now sized correctly.
• With Cart type set to Dropdown, opening the cart no longer blocks scrolling the rest of the page on desktop.
• The inventory status on a product page now clears when a selected option combination has no matching variant, instead of showing a stale "In stock, ready to ship" above an unavailable buy button.

Note for merchants using a size chart

The size chart used to attach itself to the variant picker automatically by matching your option name. It now needs to be set explicitly. To restore an inline size chart trigger, open your product page in the theme editor, select the Variant picker block, set Size chart to your size chart page, then enter your option name (for example Size) in Attach size chart. Your existing standalone Size chart block is unaffected and keeps working on its own.

Expanse 9.1.0 adds the Shopify Customer Account Web Component and addresses a small issue on the cart page.
