Gardening runs on the calendar. Spring bulbs sell in the fall, seed orders build before the growing season, and live plants may only ship in certain weeks. Customers also need to know whether a shrub will survive their winter, how big it will get and whether it wants sun or shade.
Growing information should be easy to scan, with icons or a short table for light, water, hardiness and mature size. Filters for those conditions let people shop for their garden rather than by plant name. Because live plants ship in set windows, a Shopify theme that can put custom labels, like “ships in April”, on product cards is worth having.
Living stock behaves differently from hard goods. Rare plants sell out and come back, so sold-out pages should stay live with a restock note rather than disappear. If you also sell tools, seeds and outdoor furniture, use separate product templates for plants and hard goods, and make delivery details for bulky items easy to find.
